If you're looking for some driving adventure, consider taking Rampart Range Road from Woodland Park all the way down to Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs.

This dirt road offers stunning views of Pikes Peak where one can reach the road near Woodland Park. An overlook above the town of Cascade provides a breathtaking view of Ute Pass and Colorado Springs. This overlook (see photo below) is a fantastic choice for those seeking solitude or a nice place to picnic.

Further down the road, you'll enjoy views of Queens Canyon (to the north) and the city of Colorado Springs. The road spills out near Balanced Rock in Garden of the Gods Park.

Note: Rampart Range Road is not for the faint of heart! It has been known to be fairly bumpy and a 4-wheel drive is recommended!
